Backlynk FAQ
Everything you need to know about Backlynk and directory submission for SEO.
Getting Started
How does Backlynk submit to directories?
Backlynk uses an automated submission workflow to process directory forms, manage confirmations, complete email verification, and track every step. Each submission is processed through our reliable delivery infrastructure for consistent results.
How do I get started with Backlynk?
Create an account, add your website details (URL, name, description, category), choose a plan, and start submitting. You can let Backlynk auto-select the best directories for your site or manually browse and pick from our database of 200+ directories.
What information do I need to provide about my website?
You'll need your site URL, name, a short tagline, description (150-300 words works best), category, and optionally your contact email. We use this information to process directory submissions accurately.
Backlinks & SEO
Are directory backlinks safe for SEO?
Directory submissions are safest when the target is legitimate, relevant, crawlable, and useful to real users. Backlynk filters out link farms, PBN-style sources, and directories that exist only to sell ranking credit. Directory work should be treated as citation, referral, and entity-coverage infrastructure rather than a guaranteed ranking shortcut.
What is the difference between dofollow and nofollow links?
A dofollow link has no nofollow-style rel attribute, while nofollow, sponsored, and ugc qualify the relationship between pages. Google treats link attributes as signals, so do not reduce quality to a simple dofollow-versus-nofollow score. A useful profile can include followed links, nofollow links, citations, referral traffic, and verifiable brand/entity mentions.
How long does it take to see SEO results?
Approved placements and discovered links usually appear over days or weeks, depending on each directory and search-engine crawl timing. Ranking impact is not guaranteed. Track final URLs, indexability, rel attributes, referral traffic, branded search, GSC query movement, and referring-domain discovery together.
What is Domain Rating (DR) and why does it matter?
Domain Rating is an Ahrefs third-party metric that estimates backlink-profile strength. It is useful for prioritizing prospects, but it is not a Google score and should not be treated as a ranking guarantee. Backlynk uses DR alongside relevance, crawlability, category fit, link attributes, and placement evidence.
Will this trigger a Google penalty?
No SEO activity can be described as zero-risk in every context. Backlynk reduces risk by pacing submissions, filtering sources, avoiding link farms/PBNs, using brand-safe descriptions, and framing directory work as citation and discovery infrastructure rather than paid ranking manipulation.
Features & Technical
What types of directories do you support?
We support 195 categories including general web directories, niche-specific directories, business directories, startup directories, review platforms, and software/tool discovery sources. The database is curated and periodically rechecked for fit, access, and placement evidence.
Can I choose which directories to submit to?
Yes. You can manually browse and select directories, filter by DR score, link type (dofollow/nofollow), category, or pricing tier. You can also let Backlynk recommend the best directories based on your site's category and your plan level.
Is the verification process automated?
Yes. Backlynk handles directory verification steps as part of the submission workflow, including status checks, email confirmation support, retry handling, and proof capture.
What happens if a submission fails?
Failed submissions are automatically retried up to 3 times with adjusted timing and approach. You can see detailed error logs in your dashboard and manually trigger resubmission for any failed entry.
Do you verify that backlinks are actually live?
Yes. Backlynk periodically checks submitted directories to verify your backlink is live and the correct link type (dofollow/nofollow). You can see the status of each backlink in your dashboard and get alerts if a backlink goes down.
Can I submit multiple websites?
Yes. The number of sites depends on your plan — Starter allows 1 site, Growth allows 3, Pro allows 10, and Agency allows up to 25. Each site gets its own dashboard, submission tracking, and backlink monitoring.
Pricing & Billing
How does pricing work?
Backlynk uses one-time pricing per site. You pay once and get lifetime access to submit your website to directories within your plan's DR range. There are no monthly fees or hidden charges. Plans range from $49 (Starter) to $399 (Agency).
What is the difference between the plans?
Plans differ in two ways: (1) number of sites you can manage (Starter: 1, Growth: 3, Pro: 10, Agency: 25) and (2) directory coverage level. Higher plans unlock broader coverage and higher-authority candidates. Every plan includes screenshot proof, API access, auto re-submission, analytics, and ticket support. See our pricing page for full comparison.
Do you offer a refund?
Card and PayPal payments are refundable within 7 days of purchase if fewer than 10 submissions have been completed. Cryptocurrency payments are final and non-refundable due to the nature of blockchain transactions. See our full refund policy for details.
Can I upgrade my plan later?
Yes. You can upgrade anytime and only pay the difference between your current plan and the new one. Upgrades take effect immediately, unlocking higher-DR directories and additional features.
Security & Privacy
Is my data secure?
Yes. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest. We use JWT-based authentication, parameterized database queries to prevent SQL injection, and follow OWASP security best practices. We never share or sell your data to third parties.
Do you store my website credentials?
No. We only need your website's public information (URL, name, description, category) to submit to directories. We never ask for or store your hosting credentials, CMS passwords, or any sensitive account information.
